I had many dinners here in the late nineties after happy hour at Cobalt Cantina. My visits to The Kitchen dropped tremendously when I was no longer periodically in close proximity but I always remembered the good times and good food. When I found out they were closing, I made certain to make a few final visits. I was pleased to find my favorite dishes still on the menu and they were still very good. Service was super friendly and I was glad to find that staff will be taking over the space. The Kitchen is no more but it will live on with the people that will run the be restaurant. Thank you for the great food and memories!

FYI, The prices shown on Yelp are not the same as higher current menu prices. Typical with most restaurant listings on Yelp. They don't usually update prices all too often. 12/28/24, there is a sign in the window thanking LA. They are closing in late January.

Lunchtime visit during the middle of the week, no crowd. The restaurant has an old rustic vibe with earth tones and exposed brick. The menu was not extensive for lunch but I found a couple of items to try. The fried chicken sandwich with garlic mashed potatoes, fries and Mac n cheese. The sandwich and fries were very good. The mac and cheese had a layer of cheese on top and heavy garlic. I prefer the traditional cheesy noodles. The Manager served us and he was very courteous and helpful. Check out the wine menu

This was a seriously solid meal if you are looking for something well balanced for protein, carb, and veggie ratio. It was nice to see that there was thought and care put into every dish, and you could tell by the flavors and textures. Big plus for having a happy hour menu as well!

This quant little restaurant is not to be missed. Cher provided us with an amazing experience and went out of her way to ensure that we were well taken care of. The beet salad is not to be missed. There is something about the ratio of dressing to the greens, as well as it being fantastic. One of the best beet salads I've ever had. A large was shareable for the two of us. My lunch buddy insisted that we also share the fried chicken, which came with whipped potatoes, but if that wasn't enough, she wanted fries on the side as well. I'm no one to stop her, because I love potatoes as much as she does. We had an excellent meal, served with kindness and efficiency. You can't go wrong at The Kitchen.

I found The Kitchen a decade ago looking for a neighbourhood brunch spot when I lived in Thai Town. I've since moved to other parts of L.A., but I try to come back as often as I can. It's a delightful, quiet little hidden gem. I took my dad there for lunch last May and we both chose the albacore tuna sandwich. It was served on a tasty baguette, accented by asian pear, pickled onions, and wasabi mayo. It was an interesting, flavourful sandwich that I still think about, served with smooth and tasty garlic mashed potatoes. A glass of pinot grigio complemented the meal perfectly. A dish I had a few years ago (that I don't think is on the menu anymore) is also a great brunch memory: salmon with an unexpected champagne vanilla cream sauce, breakfast potatoes, and sautéed asparagus. I had the Cypress brunch drink with this (champagne and grapefruit juice, still available). The service is friendly and efficient. There's free parking in a tiny side lot - on a weekday, there are usually spaces available. The Kitchen will always be my first recommendation when asked for a casual, yet special, spot in Hollywood.

The Kitchen has been on our list to go to for a couple of years now finally made it down at the correct time to get lunch was looking forward to having a meatloaf. Mashed potatoes where real, not made from a box & the corn was tasty.... meatloaf looked good but wasn't. I'd come back to try something else but the meatloaf was not my favorite. They have there own parking lot which was super nice not having to find street parking. We ordered online & it was ready on time & the order was correct.

Kitchen: where have you been tucked away my while life?! You're adorable and you have parking! And seriously, there is actually free parking in the back which is so amazing. I found the Kitchen in a Yelp search looking further a brunch place to meet my friend Jasminda. She opted for Silverlake and I came across this gem. The wall art is beautiful and a cozy patio outside, perfect for sunny days. We opted to dine inside and had our choice of tables in the narrow dining room and ate by the window. She enjoyed her caramelized burger and sangria, as I opted for breakfast with the Herb Bake with drip coffee and cream. Yum! Really fun way to have eggs, so conditioning! The potatoes and bacon hit the spot. Service was great and no complaints whatsoever! I look forward to going back and trying the dinner menu: yum!

A very quaint little eatery mostly designed for romantic couples or even pairs of great friends. Rustic decor highlights the bones of the old building in which it occupies. Sunday brunch menu is full of wonderful delights that are sure difficult to decide between. We started at the top of the menu and ordered the hot n fresh donut holes ensconced in cinnamon sugar and ready to dip into the side of caramel sauce. Truly an indulgent dish that is a great ending to a savory brunch item. The Dungeness crab cake Benedict featured appropriately sized crab cakes atop an English muffin (perfectly prepared by the way) with an over easy fried egg and Romesco sauce and a side of green salad and roasted breakfast spuds. We split the main dish between dear one and moi, finding it just the right amount of feast. We parked on the street in the nearby neighborhood. Not sure if there is parking in the back.
